Cookie Policy
What this website stores in your browser, why it stores it, and how to get rid of it. Written from the code, not from a template.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These policies are the standard basis on which we sell and engage clients. They are not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. Where you have signed an individual client agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over anything on this page. We recommend you take your own advice before entering any significant commitment.
This website sets no cookie at all for an ordinary visitor. Your cart is kept in your browser’s own local storage on your device — it is never sent to us. The only cookie this site issues is a staff login cookie, set on our own administrative area and never on a customer’s browser.
2. What this site sets
The complete list. There is nothing else:
ses.cart.v1— local storage, on your device. Holds your shopping cart: the item references, quantities and add-ons you selected. It is read only by this site, in your browser, and is never transmitted to us until you actually check out. Prices are never taken from it — they are re-read from the catalogue and re-checked on our server at checkout, so editing it cannot change what you are charged. It persists until you clear it or clear your browser data.ses.order-access.v1— session storage, on your device. After you place an order, this remembers your order number and email for the length of the browser session, so you are not asked to type them again on the confirmation page. It is deliberately session storage rather than local storage so that order access does not outlive the session on a shared computer.ses_admin— a cookie, but not one you will ever receive. This is our own staff login for the administrative area. It is set only when a member of our team signs in, it is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, it is marked Secure in production, it is cryptographically signed, and it expires after eight hours. A customer browsing or buying on this site is never issued this cookie.
3. Strictly necessary storage
Of the items above, the cart and the order-access entry are strictly necessary: they are the mechanism by which the shop works at all. Without the cart entry, moving between product pages would lose everything you had selected. Without the order-access entry, you would re-enter your order number on every page of your own order.
Both are stored on your device and neither identifies you to us. Clearing them is harmless — you lose an unsubmitted cart and have to re-enter your order number, and nothing else.
The staff login cookie is strictly necessary for the administrative area to function securely. It is exempt from consent for the same reason any login session cookie is.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics loads on this site only when an analytics ID has been configured. No measurement script is bundled into the site unconditionally, and there is no placeholder or example tracking ID anywhere in the code. If no ID is set, no analytics request is made at all.
No analytics is currently configured on this site, so no analytics cookie is set and no measurement script runs. If analytics is switched on later, this section will name the provider, say whether it uses cookies, and say what it collects — and section 7 governs whether consent is asked for first.
5. Third-party cookies
A third-party cookie is one set by a domain other than this one — an embedded video, an advertising network, a social widget, a chat bubble.
This site embeds no third-party widgets, players, social buttons or chat tools, so none of them sets anything in your browser here. There is currently no exception.
Two related cases worth being clear about:
- Payment pages. Where an online payment is available, the payment step happens on the payment provider’s own page, under its own cookie policy, not ours. That is also why your card details never reach us — see our Privacy Policy.
- Links out. Following a link from this site to another one puts you under that site’s cookie policy. We do not control what they set.
6. What we do not use
To state the negatives explicitly, because they are the ones people care about:
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking, and no advertising pixels of any kind.
- No behavioural profiling and no audience segments.
- No fingerprinting.
- No sale or sharing of browsing data with anyone.
- No social media tracking widgets.
7. Consent
There is no cookie banner on this site, and that is deliberate. A consent banner exists to obtain permission for non-essential cookies. This site sets none, so there is nothing to ask permission for, and interrupting every visitor with a dialog that consents to nothing would be theatre rather than compliance.
If a non-essential cookie is ever introduced — an analytics tool that uses them, an embedded third-party feature — we will ask for your consent before setting it, where the law that applies to you requires it, and this page will be updated first.
Consent, where it is given, can be withdrawn at any time by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser, as described below.
8. How to control cookies and storage
- Empty your cart — the simplest way to clear the cart entry is to remove the items on the cart page.
- Clear site data in your browser. Every major browser has a “ clear browsing data” or “cookies and site data” setting that removes cookies, local storage and session storage together, either for all sites or for one site.
- Block cookies in your browser settings, for all sites or for this one. Blocking cookies does not stop you using this website.
- Use a private window. Everything stored is discarded when you close it, so the cart will not survive the session.
- Browser extensions and tracker blockers work normally here. Since we set no trackers, they will find nothing to block.
The one practical consequence of clearing everything: you lose an unsubmitted cart, and you will be asked for your order number and email again when you look at an order. Orders already placed are unaffected — they live on our server, not in your browser.
9. Changes to this policy
This page is written from what the site’s code actually does. If we add something that stores data in your browser, we update this page at the same time, not afterwards. The date of the current version is shown at the top.
