FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about how we work, what things cost, how long they take and what happens at each stage.
Services
What services does Stream Edge Solutions provide?
We provide web development, software and application development, cloud and IT solutions, business automation, API and system integration, digital marketing, and ongoing IT support and maintenance. In practice that ranges from building a corporate website or online store, to developing a custom management system, to connecting the systems a business already uses so they exchange data automatically.
Do you work with businesses outside Kenya?
Yes. We are based in Kenya and work with clients across East Africa and internationally where the project and time zones allow. Work is delivered remotely, with agreed meeting times and written progress updates. For international engagements we confirm the currency, payment method and applicable terms in the proposal before work starts.
Can you integrate third-party systems?
Yes, subject to technical compatibility and project requirements. Integration depends on the third party providing suitable API access and on the account permissions you hold with them. We carry out a feasibility check before quoting, and we will tell you if an integration is not technically possible rather than committing to it.
Do you provide ongoing support?
Yes. We offer monthly support and maintenance arrangements covering updates, security patching, backups, monitoring, troubleshooting and an agreed allocation of change requests. Scope, hours and response targets are set out in writing before the arrangement begins.
Who owns the code and the accounts?
On full payment, ownership of the custom work we produce for you transfers to you, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. Hosting, domain and third-party service accounts are registered in your name wherever possible so you retain control of them independently of us.
Pricing & Timelines
How much does a website cost?
Website development starts from $499 and e-commerce development from $999. The final figure depends on the number of pages, the functionality required, any integrations, and whether content and imagery are supplied or produced. Our pricing page lists starting prices for each service, and a quote request gets you an exact proposal.
How long does development take?
Most websites take around three to eight weeks. Custom software typically takes eight to twenty weeks to a first release. Integrations usually take two to eight weeks, though provider approval processes can extend that. These are ranges based on typical scope, not guarantees — the agreed schedule is confirmed in your proposal once requirements are settled.
How do I start a project?
The process is: enquiry, consultation, proposal, agreement, development, testing, then delivery. You submit a quote request or contact us; we hold a consultation to understand the requirement; we issue a written proposal with scope, timeline and price; once you accept and the agreement is signed, development begins in milestones; the work is tested and reviewed with you; and finally it is delivered with documentation and handover.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Project work normally begins after an initial deposit, with the balance payable against agreed milestones. The exact deposit percentage and milestone schedule are stated in your proposal and agreement rather than fixed in advance, because they depend on the size and duration of the project.
Payments & Policies
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment methods are confirmed in your invoice and proposal. We only advertise a payment method once it has actually been configured for our business, so if you do not see a method listed on this site it is not yet available. Please contact us to confirm the current options before making any payment.
What is your refund policy?
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy sets out how cancellations are handled before work begins, after work begins, and for completed milestones, subscription services and custom software. In short: work already performed is chargeable, and completed custom development is generally non-refundable. The policy page has the detail, and your individual client agreement takes precedence where it differs.
How do you handle my data?
Information you submit through our forms is used to respond to your enquiry and to deliver services you engage us for. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how long we keep it, who it is shared with and how you can request access, correction or deletion. We do not sell personal data.
