The four questions this page answers

  1. 1

    What you buy

A short advisory engagement that looks at how your business actually works and produces a written assessment of which tasks are worth automating with AI, which are not, and what it would cost to find out.

  2. 2

    What you get

5 deliverables, listed in full below

    • A written assessment report of roughly 10 to 15 pages
    • A ranked shortlist of tasks with indicative build and running costs
    • A written list of tasks we advise against automating, with reasons
    + 2 more
  3. 3

    How it is delivered

    Remote Setup

Carried out remotely by our team. Nothing is posted and no one visits.

  4. 4

    How long it takes

10 business days from the second interview session

Measured from the point everything under “what we need from you” is with us, not from the moment you pay.

What is this, in plain English?

A short advisory engagement that looks at how your business actually works and produces a written assessment of which tasks are worth automating with AI, which are not, and what it would cost to find out.

A deliberately modest fixed-fee product that exists so you can spend a few hundred dollars before spending several thousand. It is written to be usable by another supplier, not just by us, and a common outcome is a recommendation to do nothing yet. It ends with a costed shortlist rather than a proposal.

The problem it solves

There is pressure to be doing something with AI, no clear view of where it would actually pay, and the risk of committing budget to a project that solves a problem the business does not have.

If that does not describe you, this is probably the wrong product. Tell us and we will point you at a better fit rather than sell you the nearest one.

What you get

The concrete things that exist at the end and that you own.

What does it do?

Everything listed here is delivered as part of this product. Nothing on this list is aspirational.

  • Two interview sessions covering how the work is done today
  • Review of up to five candidate tasks nominated by you
  • A risk note per task covering accuracy, data sensitivity and regulatory exposure
  • An explicit "do not automate this" list with the reasoning written down
  • Indicative build cost and running cost range for each recommended task
  • A written report of roughly 10 to 15 pages, plus a walkthrough call

How it works

The delivery sequence from order to handover.

  1. 1

    Interview

Two sessions with the people who do the work, not only with management, because that is where the detail is.

  2. 2

    Assess the candidates

We test each nominated task against volume, consistency, data availability and what a mistake would cost.

  3. 3

    Cost the shortlist

Recommended tasks get an indicative build cost and an estimated monthly provider cost range.

  4. 4

    Write and walk through

You get the written report first, then a call to go through it and challenge the conclusions.

Delivery & fulfilment

Stream Edge Solutions ships nothing. Every package on this site is carried out and handed over remotely — this is exactly what happens after you order.

  1. 1We confirm requirementsWe read what you sent with the order, come back in writing with anything missing, and agree the scope before any chargeable work starts.
  2. 2We build and configure remotelySetup, configuration and testing are done by our team over a remote connection — on your systems or on ours, whichever the package specifies.
  3. 3We hand it overYou receive the working setup, the credentials, the documentation and a walkthrough. Everything built for you is yours at handover.

What we need from you

Nothing starts until these are in place, and the turnaround above is measured from that point — not from the moment you pay.

  • Access to two or three people who do the work being assessed
  • A shortlist of up to five tasks you want considered
  • Rough volume figures for those tasks, even approximate ones
  • Willingness to hear that a task is not worth automating

Who this is for

  • Business owners being asked what their AI plan is
  • Managers weighing several possible AI projects
  • Companies burnt by a previous tool that went unused
  • Teams wanting an independent view before committing budget

Business needs this addresses: Automate work, Improve operations

What's not included

Just as plainly as the list above: the things this package is not.

  • Any build, pilot, prototype or configuration work, all of which are quoted separately
  • AI model and API usage, including anything consumed by a demonstration during the assessment or by work the report recommends, which the provider bills directly to an account in your own name
  • Legal, tax, accounting, employment or regulatory advice — where the report identifies a regulatory question, we say so and tell you to take proper advice on it
  • Any guarantee that a recommended task will produce savings, and any commitment that estimated costs will hold, since provider pricing changes
  • An obligation to use us for anything the report recommends
  • Assessment of more than five tasks, or of a second business unit

Anything outside the scope above is quoted separately, in writing, before it is carried out. Nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.

FAQs

What if the answer is that we should not do anything?

Then that is what the report says, and it is a legitimate outcome rather than a failed engagement. A few hundred dollars spent concluding that your volumes are too low or your data too inconsistent is a good trade against a project that quietly fails. The report will still tell you what would have to change for the answer to become yes.

Is the report tied to using Stream Edge for the build?

No. It is written so another supplier could work from it, including the costings and the risk notes, and there is no obligation to come back to us. We would rather be the supplier you chose after reading it than the only one who could interpret it.

Do you look at our data during the assessment?

We look at samples and structure to judge feasibility, not at bulk data, and we can work from redacted examples where the material is sensitive. Nothing is sent to an AI provider as part of the assessment unless you ask for a demonstration and agree to it in writing first, and any such demonstration is configured against the provider terms you hold, with a no-training option enabled where the provider offers one. You remain the data controller for anything you show us, and we will sign a confidentiality agreement before the interviews if you want one.

How firm are the cost estimates?

The build figures are indicative ranges that firm up once a scope is written, and the running costs are estimates based on AI provider pricing at the time of writing. Providers change their prices and retire models without notice, so a figure that is right in one quarter can move in the next. We show the assumptions behind each estimate so you can recalculate them yourself later.

Refund & cancellation

What happens if you change your mind, and what happens to money already paid.

Cooling-off before work starts
You have 7 days after ordering to cancel while work has not yet begun. Up to 25% may be retained to cover scoping and scheduling already carried out.
Work already done
Once delivery has started, refunds are assessed against the work completed and the deliverables already handed over — the list under “what you get” above is what that assessment is made against. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days.
If we cannot deliver what is described here
You are refunded. The scope on this page is the scope we are held to, which is exactly why the exclusions above are stated before you buy rather than after.

The full terms, item type by item type, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. How the work reaches you is covered by the Delivery & Fulfilment Policy.
