What is this, in plain English?

A written rulebook for an identity you already have: what the logo may and may not do, the exact colour and type values, and where the master files live. Delivered as a PDF and as a single web page.

This documents an existing identity rather than creating one. If you have no settled identity yet, buy the Brand Identity Package or the Premium Brand Identity System first, since both include documentation. The web page version exists because nobody opens a PDF attachment from two years ago when a supplier asks for the logo at four in the afternoon. Both versions are digital files: the PDF is set up so you can have it printed, but we print and send nothing ourselves.

The problem it solves

Three suppliers have asked for your logo this month and each received a different file from a different member of staff. Nobody can say what the exact brand blue is, so it is slightly different on the website, the invoices and the last set of flyers.

If that does not describe you, this is probably the wrong product. Tell us and we will point you at a better fit rather than sell you the nearest one.

What you get

The concrete things that exist at the end and that you own.

  • Clear space, minimum size and background rules
  • Exact colour values for screen, print and office software

How it works

The delivery sequence from order to handover.

  1. 1

    Collect the assets

You send every current brand file, or we use the files from an identity project we delivered.

  2. 2

    Agree the rules

A remote session to settle the decisions the document has to record, including the misuse examples worth showing.

  3. 3

    Draft

A full draft of the document is written and designed for your review.

  4. 4

    Two revision rounds

Corrections and additions, consolidated into one list per round.

  5. 5

    Publish

Final PDF plus a self-contained web page you can host, with a link to the master file archive.

Full detail of how work is handed over, what happens if requirements are outstanding and how order records are kept is in the Delivery & Fulfilment Policy.

What we need from you

Nothing starts until these are in place, and the turnaround above is measured from that point — not from the moment you pay.

  • A settled identity with usable master files, or an identity project delivered by us
  • Someone able to make final decisions on the rules being recorded
  • Examples of past misuse worth documenting, if you have them
  • Somewhere to host the web page version, if you want it published

Who this is for

  • Businesses whose identity is settled but undocumented
  • Companies that work with several outside suppliers and agencies
  • Organisations with branches or departments producing their own material
  • Marketing managers who spend their week emailing logo files

What's not included

Just as plainly as the list above: the things this package is not.

  • Creating the identity itself. This documents a brand you already have.
  • Hosting and the domain for the web page version, paid by you to your provider. We supply the files and can hand them to whoever manages your site.
  • Enforcing the rules. We cannot control how suppliers, franchisees or staff actually use the assets.
  • Ongoing updates as the brand evolves, which are quoted as separate work
  • Translation into other languages
  • Printed or bound copies of the document. The PDF is print-ready if you want one, but you arrange the printing.

Anything outside the scope above is quoted separately, in writing, before it is carried out. Nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.

FAQs

We do not have a proper identity yet. Can we start here?

No, and buying this first would waste your money. Guidelines record decisions that have already been made. Start with the Brand Identity Package or the Premium Brand Identity System, both of which include documentation. This product suits businesses whose identity exists but was never written down.

Will this stop people misusing our logo?

It removes the excuse, which is most of the problem. Suppliers usually misuse a brand because nobody told them the rules or sent them the right file. What guidelines cannot do is enforce anything, so someone on your side still has to point at the document when it is ignored.

Who hosts the web page, and can you print bound copies for us?

You host it. We supply a self-contained page that can be uploaded to your existing website or any hosting account, and hosting fees are paid by you to your provider rather than to us. If your website is one we built, we can put it live as part of an existing support plan. Printed copies work the same way: the PDF is set up correctly for print, but you place and pay for that job with a printer yourself.

What if the draft is not what we expected?

Two revision rounds are included and are usually enough, because the content comes from your own decisions rather than from our invention. If the whole structure needs rethinking, a redraft is quoted before it starts. The fee covers the draft delivered and is not refunded.

Refund & cancellation

What happens if you change your mind, and what happens to money already paid.

Cooling-off before work starts
You have 7 days after ordering to cancel while work has not yet begun. Up to 25% may be retained to cover scoping and scheduling already carried out.
Work already done
Once delivery has started, refunds are assessed against the work completed and the deliverables already handed over — the list under “what you get” above is what that assessment is made against. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days.
If we cannot deliver what is described here
You are refunded. The scope on this page is the scope we are held to, which is exactly why the exclusions above are stated before you buy rather than after.

The full terms, item type by item type, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. How the work reaches you is covered by the Delivery & Fulfilment Policy.

Not sure this is the right product?

We would rather point you at the right thing than sell you the nearest one. Ask us before you buy — no obligation.
